My name is Kaleena Carter and I truly enjoy my job as an educator. I have been developing my craft as a teacher for over 10 years now. I am originally from Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University majoring in Mathematics for Secondary Education with a minor in the French Language for Teaching. I currently hold a Masters in Fine Art and am currently pursuing a second Masters in Educational Technology. So as you can see, I have a strong love for mathematics and technology and the arts. I enjoy painting and creating in my free time and I am a volunteer member of an art and curatorial collective here in Korea. I enjoy traveling and have been to Europe, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong to name a few. This is my sixth year at KKFS, and I plan on residing in Korea for a while.
Aside from teaching math, I enjoy getting involved in the extra curricular activities. I coach the high school cheerleading squad at KKFS and am also the coach of the pee wee cheer club for the elementary students. I also enjoy engaging students who have an interest in problem-solving so I also help sponsor the Mu Alpha Theta Chapter here at KKFS. The newest club that I am helping sponsor is Girls Up. I look forward to building new relationships with the study body!
In the start of the 2015 school year, I have taken on an additional role as the onsite College Guidance Counselor. I help students complete their high school years with ease by supporting them in their quest for a higher education.
Some of my hobbies include yoga, reading, painting, shopping, and learning anything new. I enjoy taking care of my cat and watching the occasional K-Drama. I spend a lot of my time volunteering in the curatorial collective, so often I give my time supporting local artists and creators.
Thank you for reading my bio, I hope to learn just as much if not more about you!
